NETHERLANDS — The Chairperson of the Somali Diaspora Journalists Association (SDJA), Mohamed Yusuf Said, widely known as Mr. Bakayle, has accepted a prestigious international award issued by the CMD organization in the Netherlands.
Mr. Bakayle accepted the "Best Somali Humanitarian of the Year" award on behalf of renowned philanthropist Ahmed Abdirahman, affectionately known within the community as "Suldaanka 5-ta Soomaaliyeed" (The Sultan of the Five Somalis).
The award recognizes Ahmed Abdirahman's extensive charitable work and humanitarian support across Somali communities, particularly his dedication to uplifting vulnerable groups and assisting those facing severe hardships.
The presentation ceremony took place in the Netherlands, drawing various members of the Somali diaspora community. Upon receiving the honor on Abdirahman's behalf, Mr. Bakayle expressed his gratitude to the CMD organization for recognizing and honoring such vital humanitarian work.
The accolade highlights the growing importance of encouraging and celebrating individuals who dedicate their time and resources to supporting the Somali people.
