Rirash was an educated man and the greatest historian of the Horn of Africa, particularly Somali history.
He was born a long time ago in Gabiley and grew up in Hargeisa. After completing his early education, he moved to Sheikh School and later to Lafoole University.
After completing his university studies, Rirash went on to establish a university in the United Kingdom.
Rirash also traveled extensively, visiting Europe, America, Australia, and Africa.
He wrote many articles on Somali culture and history and translated the book Al-Futuh Al-Habasha about the era of Ahmed Gurey.
Rirash created several programs, including Sirta Erayga and Tixmal, and played a significant role Somali cultural when he visited Djibouti.
