The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), has embarked on an official working visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, following an invitation from the Prime Minister, H.E. Dr Abiy Ahmed.
The visit signifies a major step towards strengthening the enduring partnership between Somaliland and Ethiopia. It highlights both nations’ determination to deepen their historic, political, and economic ties, while enhancing cooperation in the areas of security, trade, infrastructure, and regional development.
President Irro, accompanied by a high-level delegation, travelled aboard a special flight to Addis Ababa. During his stay, he will hold strategic discussions with senior Ethiopian officials, focusing on advancing bilateral collaboration, improving cross-border links, and promoting peace and prosperity throughout the Horn of Africa.
The delegation includes the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Presidency, Finance, Public Works, and Investment, along with the Chief of the National Armed Forces and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency.
This visit reflects the renewed diplomatic vision of the Republic of Somaliland, reaffirming President Irro’s dedication to enhancing Somaliland’s global engagement, safeguarding its sovereignty, and strengthening its role as a constructive and responsible partner in regional and international affairs.
