If Somaliland decides to confront the current management of its airspace, the action could yield both diplomatic and administrative consequences.

Such a move would likely attract the attention of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and other global aviation bodies, prompting a reassessment of the existing arrangement between Somaliland and Somalia. 


Somaliland’s initiative could strengthen its claim for fair and independent oversight of its airspace, reflecting its long-standing self-governance and operational capacity since 1991. 

Nevertheless, this step may also escalate political tensions with Somalia and pose challenges to regional aviation coordination. 

The outcome would ultimately depend on the international community’s response and its willingness to recognize Somaliland’s position within the framework of international civil aviation governance.
