A shocking report has revealed that military aid — including weapons and equipment supplied by the U.S., EU, and Egypt for Somalia’s fight against terrorism — has allegedly been redirected by the Somali government to fuel conflict in Somaliland.

Instead of being used against Al-Shabaab, this arsenal was reportedly handed over to clan-based militias operating in the Sool region, especially in Las Anod, as part of a deliberate effort to destabilize the self-declared Republic of Somaliland.

Just yesterday, Somaliland’s military intercepted and defeated these militias, uncovering hidden stockpiles of weapons. Some of the seized ammunition containers were marked with the contract number "1/1/438” — reportedly proving that this aid, originally intended to fight terrorism, was diverted to undermine Somaliland. Among the captured items were armed vehicles, which, according to officials, belonged to captured soldiers from the federal government of Somalia.
