Somaliland president Abdirahman Mohamed and the high powered delegation accompanied the president has a productive diplomatic engagement with UAE vice president Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid who is the prime minister and the ruler of Dubai together with UAE vice president, who is also the defence minister and the minister of the president office. The two sides have discussed numerous areas that touched the bilateral interest of the two countries and the two people such as economic cooperation between the brotherly countries, investment opportunities, trade cooperation, the security in the Gulf of Aden and red sea etc
The special relationship between somaliland and UAE is based the stragetic interest of the two countries. The geographical location of the two countries connected them to each other. The two countries have taken a joint effort to integrate the two countries politically, economically, socially and security matters. It is people to people relationship. The political competition in the region made the two countries closing to each other more than anytime before. At present, the world political players have intensified bringing increased geopolitical competition. This is what generated Somaliand and UAE to rotate same political axis .

Thanks to united Arab Emirates and its people that treated somaliland as independent country and its president Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi as official head of state. UAE government leadership have demonstrated unprecedented support to somaliland and it's people. This great support will remain the memories of somaliland people generations to come. Somaliland future generations will learn UAE great support to somaliland and it's people. Somaliland and UAE are like two trees that share same root.

Somaliland has unique history which is different than, the history of somalia. Somaliland and somalia didn't share nothing, but religion and language. Nothing more. The two countries inherted two colonial systems namely british colonial system and Italian colonial system which didn't share common connection .
