Before the colonization ... Who was Somali and who was Somalised by name? Two pages are attached here, to provide two different answers, yet from the same book, but from different editions. The first page being original and very old. While The other is from late edition of the same book. I think Italy substituted the word Ajam to Somali ethnic. The new Italian naming became SOMALIA, resembling with the Italian word of ITALIA. Original edition of the book was written before the year of 1830, before Italy colonized Bilada Al-Cajm (Somalia). It shows the name of Somaliland existed before the colonization as a territory. This name was translated from the Arabic name of Bilad A-Somal. See the original map to examine the two nominal words of SOMALI and AJAM. Later editions of the book were written after the year of 1860, when Italy had occupied Bilad Al-Cajam. It is self-evident the late edition will follow the recently Italian naming of Somalia.

Also it is unfortunate Somaliland politician unheeded to know the difference between another two nominal latin words:

1. Somali Republic

2. Republic of Somalia

Somali Repubic first appeared after the Second World war, when Britain wanted greedily to colonize the whole land of Somali speaking people, namely Somalia, Somaliland, Ogadenia and NFD of Kenya. This was urgently impeded partly by the people of Somalia and Ogadenia, while on the other part by the United Nations.

Republic of Somalia initially came in sight on 1st July 1960, when Adan Abdalla Osman, then provisional president of SOMALIA, wrote his letter to the United Nations, requesting recognition for his newly born state of SOMALIA (Ajam). He was intentionally hiding out SOMALILAND, since he failed to sign THE ACT OF UNION between Somaliland and Somalia, as two unifying sovereign states.

Therefore, there is no legal binding or union between Somalia and Somaliland. As there is no Act Of Union signed by both. Definitely no! Let anyone who have that Law, let him bring it out.
